My name is Debby Fisher and I have been involved with dogs all my life.
When I was little my parents had Rough Collies.
Shelties came into the scene when our last Collie died when I was eleven years old. My mum wanted a smaller breed and as Shelties resemble Rough Collies she bought a couple of them.
Over a couple of years, mum decided to breed with them and later had her own affix “Cardoness”.Before long we were producing some nice shelties and mum decided to show a couple of them.
This I found very exciting and decided to attend the shows with her, showing my first show dog “Vickdale Golden Ladd at Cardoness”. He was a beautiful golden sable and mum had bred his dam too.“Rikki” did a lot of winning and I had a lot of fun with him, bringing home red cards and BOB’s at all the local open shows. I also did a lot of winning in child handling classes too!

I also became involved in obedience classes, which I attended most nights. This kept me very busy, but I loved being with my dogs.
When I was nineteen I met my husband Mark and we married five years later, then came my children, Chris and Amy.
As we had a busy family life the dogs had to take a back seat.During this time my mum also gave up breeding and showing and just kept three Shelties as pets, including Rikkiuntil they died.
While my children were small, we acquired a cross Collie from a rescue centre, and a cute little Pomeranian. These dogs were a big part of our family life for years and when “Sam” our Collie died we decided to get a Samoyed!
By this time we were living in Scotland, on the Isle of Bute.
We bought "Fraser" first and then a couple of years later bought "Ellie".
After living on Bute for six years, we decided to move down to Morecambe, where we live today.HereI met my friend Sheila Martin of the “Shellthorn” kennels at a local show who bred Shelties, and as you all can guess, I just had to have another Sheltie. This is where it began again and "Shellthorn Northern Light Over Shellamoyed" a gorgeous blue merle dog came along.
Six years later we have six Shelties, and my two Samoyeds sharing the family home with us.
Welcome to "Shellamoyed" my affix. As you can guess a combination of Shelties and Samoyeds.
It’s lovely to get back into shows again and meet all my old friends and some new.
After six years travelling around the country to shows, I have now qualified six Shelties for Crufts 07, 08,09 10, and now 11.
Now the bug has returned once more and the excitement has begun again.
I would like to dedicate this site in memory of my best friend Sheila Martin who died Sept 08 after a short illness.
She was a true friend, who has helped me, gave me advice, encouraged me and supported me throughout. I will miss her company and laughter .
